The venue for our Wednesday night classes has changed. They will now be held at the Heritage Swim Park, in the Pavilion, just a short distance from The Center on Main. The Monday and Friday classes will remain at The Center on Main. There will be no classes on 2- 24-23 and 3-3-23.
As we come to a close of a two-week break from Karate so that the community can celebrate the holidays, we will resume the regular schedule this Monday, December 12! We thank everyone for their patience, but we especially thank the Verrado community for hosting this wonderful Christmas event! For those who have been thinking about trying out a class, just a reminder that Karate makes a wonderful Christmas gift for yourself or another!
To our community and our students,
We wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
Really big news for us and our community, Simba Dojo reduced its club dues by 50%! We now ask that all club members pay $30 per month instead of the regular $60 monthly dues. There are several factors that influenced the reduction in fees, and really it has nothing to do with attracting more students. The main reason we are able to do this reduction is that we saved a considerable amount by joining the Amateur Athletic Union. This allowed for a drastic reduction in our initial costs for liability insurance. As a result of joining AAU, it had an additional financial burden placed on our students as now each student it required to be a member. Fortunately, the fees are very reasonable at 40 dollars for adults and 18 for kids per year. So yes, that is an extra fee we never asked before, but the overall result is worth the savings! There is an extra benefit for being part of AAU and that it every member has a certain amount of liability insurance!
The good news is that we will still be having classes at 7:30 pm! Unfortunately, the 5:00 classes have been canceled. We have been hanging in there, but the Verrado people wanted the space for other events and asked us to make room for them. Not to put the blame on that factor totally, but we did lose a few students that have not returned from vacations or illness. So now it is time to rebuild our student population and who knows we may be able to offer more times in the future. We will stay open, so to our loyal students and future students, we will always find a way to keep practicing our Karate!
In other news, Simba Dojo has joined AAU Sports National Karate program! We are very excited about this which will bring new opportunities for our club. But more on this later!
Take care and hope to see everyone soon!
