Can I wear a gi I got from another school?
Would the Phoenix Suns allow their players to wear another team's jersey on the court? Would the Lakers let a newly drafted player wear his old Suns uniform during a game? Absolutely not!
In the martial arts world, wearing a uniform featuring another school's branding is similarly considered poor etiquette, unless you are actively representing that school at a specific competitive event. Wearing a unified, clean uniform fosters a strong sense of community, builds team spirit, and ensures our group photos look sharp and cohesive.
Uniform Guidelines:
-
Plain White Gi: You are welcome to practice in a plain white gi, provided it has no emblems, patches, or advertisements from other schools.
-
Simba Dojo Club Uniform: While a plain gi is acceptable for daily class, we highly encourage all members to purchase our official club uniform—especially if you plan to participate in school events, tests, and demonstrations.
